Dear Colleague:
It’s time to renew your membership in the
Seattle/King County Employment Council. If you are not already a
member, I hope you will consider joining this year.
The Employment Council is a coalition of
organizations working to improve access to quality employment by
shaping public policy and promoting effective employment and
training services for those who need them most.
Monthly membership meetings will keep you informed
on topics of interest to workforce development organizations.
Examples of guest speakers and topics from 2005 include:
- Bill McSherry, Puget Sound Regional Council and
Rita Ryder, YWCA: “The Prosperity Partnership”
- Roberta Pauer, Washington State Employment
Security Department and Mark Gardner, Seattle Jobs Initiative:
“Local Economy and Hiring Trends”
- Tony Lee, Fremont Public Association and Lisa
Cippolone, aide to Senator Maria Cantwell: “Federal and State
Workforce Development Legislation”
- Bob Bowman, Washington Office of Financial
Management: “WorkFirst Re-Examination”
The Employment Council also provides e-mail
updates on current and relevant policy changes, updates and job
leads for employment specialists and job developers.
This important work can’t continue without your
support and participation. Please return the
membership
invoice with your $65 annual dues today. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Matt King
Membership Coordinator
(and Director of Employment Services, YWCA)
